'De National Geographic Fotowedstrijd' is a platform for enthusiastic amateur photographers and ambitious talents. With three different categories, National Geographic desires people to spread inspiration, versatility, and vulnerability of our planet through new perspectives. You are able to actively participate in this competition by submitting one photo per category on the website. In my period at DotControl
, I was responsible for the design of this website.
In a nutshell
Participants are able to submit their photos in the categories: animal, landscape, and people. The contest has three phases: submission, voting, and presentation. Before any picture is uploaded online it will go through a board of editors to be reviewed. The winner with the most astonishing picture is announced and awarded with a spread in the National Geographic magazine.
Get carried away in the world of...
Through the category page, the visitor is taken into the world of animals, landscapes, and photography of individuals through animations, screen-filling images, and inspiring videos. By pressing the 'Meedoen' button the participants will be going through a funnel including multiple steps, allowing the participant to submit their piece quickly.
